Types of Stainless Steel Beams
Stainless steel beams are named after their most prominent aspect of the 'I' Shape. The I-beam is the universal and most identified model and because of that, the other beams are named comparatively to that bar.
I Beam: The most common beam in our inventory. The I-beams center web can only be rolled as much as a mill's equipment can handle (5/8″). The I-Beam is lighter in weight which is why it is used so often. It is a solid piece of metal throughout, rolled and manufactured from one part.
H Beam: The H-Beam is stronger than the I-beam, but it requires much more effort to produce. Instead of being rolled as one piece, an H-Beam is three pieces individually created and welded together. This allows each portion to be much stronger because the milling equipment reinforces the material multiple times. It is much heavier and can take much more force and pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the main differences between H-Beams and I-Beams?
H-beams have wider flanges and are generally heavier and stronger, constructed from three welded pieces. I-beams are typically rolled as a single piece, are lighter, and have narrower flanges.
Which stainless steel grades are available for these beams?
We offer a wide range of grades including 201, 304, 310S, 316L, 321, 2205, and 2507 to suit different anti-corrosion and strength requirements.
What industries typically use stainless steel H-beams?
They are widely used in mechanical manufacturing, steel structures, shipbuilding, bridge construction, and automobile chassis due to their excellent load-bearing capacity.
Can the length and dimensions be customized?
Yes, while the standard length is 6m, we can provide customized dimensions and lengths according to your specific project requirements.
What surface treatments can be applied?
Common treatments include pickling, galvanizing, or coating, depending on the environment where the beam will be installed.
Is the product currently in stock for immediate shipping?
We maintain a ready stock of standard sizes for rapid dispatch. For non-standard or customized orders, production time depends on the specific requirements.
